May 5, 2020 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- DC pop singer Bryce raises hell in the horrifying video for his latest smash Nostalgic.
DC pop artist Bryce’s latest single, the sweet, anthemic electropop Nostalgic is paired with a skin-crawling visual, that evokes the fiendish vibe of horror movies like The Exorcist and The Conjuring. Directed by Belinda Shao, the video stars Bryce as a scorned lover under demonic possession, who thrashes his way through the memories of a broken relationship.
“I wanted the video to be a complete contrast to the sugary sound of the song,” says Bryce. “If the song is about missing the past, then the video is about exorcising it. Demonic possession seemed like the best way to represent that.”
Bryce worked with the DC queer nightlife community to bring this terrifying nightmare to life. Drag artist Squealia supplied the stunning demonic make-up. Josh Hall, also known for his drag persona Ruth Allen Ginsburg, is a frequent producer of the pop singer’s videos. Even Bryce’s co-stars are out-of-drag entertainers Hellurr Vatyme and BratWorst.
“As a gay artist, it was important for me to stick to my roots and give the horror aspects a queer, glam edge,” adds Bryce. “The team of artists on this video are at the forefront of DC queer nightlife. They are innovative performers and creators and I am so grateful they lended their talents to this project”
